All sweet no heat rub recipe?

I am doing a mothers day cookout of baby backs for my family. Since the majority of them have a low threshold for heat, i need to do something other than my typical rub.

So does anyone have a rub recipe that has 0 heat to it but rather a nice balanced sweetness? I would like a bit more of a flavor profile rather than just brown sugar.

Thanks in advance!

You could look around for recipes that are Indonesian or some other "Asianish" types:

Some use a sweet soy base with a little Ginger, 5-Spice, or Sesame blended in for flavor. Those all go well with pork (especially if you get a nice bit of bark with a thin, carmelized layer of sticky stuff on the outside).

Cannot remember it entirely now, but I have one for "cheater ribs". (Theses are partially pre-cooked in the oven and finished on the grill - NOT smoked). The process goes something like this:

-Start with a light rub with some brown sugar, cinnamon, & ginger in it (plus salt & pepper)
-Bake in a cake pan with apple juice, onion slices, and a few thin slices of fresh Ginger root over the top)
-Cut into 2-3 bone sections and finish on the grill with a thin sauce that has similar stuff in it to the rub, plus a little molasses & bourbon.

At least, they're not boiled first. Some may consider it "sacrilege", but sometimes they hit the spot.

Maybe if I can find the recipe, I'll post it / fill-in the details later tonight.

Dont be afraid of just salt/black pepper on the ribs..Then glaze with honey the last 20-30 min.
