Aftermarket hinges for a Weber Genesis S-330?

Hi folks,

My first time here and I'm hoping for your wisdom.

My Genesis spent a year in storage while we were remodeling. The time in storage was not kind to it. In addition to cosmetic issues like the paint on the fire box peeling off, my hinge pins rusted. The rust was so bad on one of them that it snapped in two when I opened the grill and I had to drill it out.

I've replaced the hinge pins with stainless steel pins so they won't rust again but the lid doesn't sit quite right. I'm wondering if anyone has ever replaced the hinge mechanism entirely on their genesis. I'm looking for something I can screw in to the firebox and the lid.

Anyone have any ideas?

First is it registered? If so then call Weber it could still be under warranty.

I did call them, they sent me new hinges and told me the paint wasn't under warranty anymore. I'll call again saying I had to drill out the pins and see if they do anything.

Holy crap. Weber is amazing. They're sending me a new firebox and lid!!!!!

Anymore with them what you're really paying for is service. Especially on the newer stuff which is either built entirely in China or mostly in China. It's nice when they do this.
