Advice: Manifold change on Genesis 2 e310 (LP)

Hi All,

Any advice or things to watch out for before I change out my Manifold? Anything particular to Genesis 2? Anything I should visually inspect on the new manifold before install? My new manifold is about to arrive and the weekend work awaits. Read the thread from Chris (thanks Chris!) on this site and read info on other sites. Looks straight forward... important thing seems to be to use pipe dope on the connection from manifold to LP tank hose and test.

I'm not the expert, but not all fittings should use thread sealant, pipe dope etc.

Here is a pic of manifold, with the connector circled in Yellow.

That connector looks like a regular flare connector. If you are attaching a hose that looks like this it does not need, and you should not use thread sealant. The flange will seal it just by tightening it.

edit: and I'm talking about the brass colored hex connector on the hose, not the plastic one that goes to the tank.

Dan is correct. That is a 3/8" flare connection and you should NOT use tape or pipe dope on it.

This is so opportune. I was just about to buy that slim tape (I thought it was called plumber's tape) but now I won't.
