Advice: fitting blower to large vent

OK, so I've got a large vent to work with (http://www.tuckercooker.com/MorePictures/images/vents.75.jpg) and need some advice on fitting a blower to it.

Each pie slice of that vent measures approx 2.25" x 3.25", and overall diameter needed to cover the entire vent is approx 5.6-5.7 inches. That being said, I've got a dog food bowl that fits the bill perfectly, as I can cut a hole in the bottom and bolt this 20CFM Auber fan to it. However, I'm stumped a bit on mounting that bowl to the firebox, as I absolutely CANNOT modify the pit in anyway, as it's not mine.

I originally planned to put some nomex gasket on the bowl rim, then secure it to the firebox with toggle bolts through the bottom of the bowl and into the vent. However.......

Toggle bolts through the bowl don't seem like a good candidate at all, given the size of the vent holes. I don't think any toggle bolt has a diameter of 2.25 inches, last time I checked, and certainly not 3+ so they'd never be able to secure to the firebox. Is there another kind of bolt that would solve my issue here and allow me to secure to the insides of each of those vent holes on that vent? If no bolt exists for that, I can certainly take a piece of metal strip and drill holes through it, then use nuts to secure the bar against the inside of the firebox. However, I'm open to ideas.

Put a rectangle of sheet metal inside the vents and drill two large but not too large holes (one for each vent) for the toggle bolts. The holes should be small enough so the toggle bolts work and large enough so you get good air flow. Tighten everything down so it will hold together by friction.
