Adventures in rain

Did but over brisket with the guru for the first time. Almost went great. One thing I didn't plan on was the rain--I'm using my friend's WSM at his place, and we left it 1/2 way out from the eave of his deck. Sometime overnight, we had a spot of rain. Got up this morning to sub 200 pit temps and 2" of water in the bottom of the WSM

Some of the charcoal was also extinguished and dampened. Took an hour with the propane torch to get it back to a sustainable burn. Sigh.

The Butt and Brisket both were yummy and went over well.

Our crew agreed the MC Hammer ad was our favorite.

Spent the evening travelling through your neck of the woods--to Del Rio, over on the border--so no game.

Had a similar thing happen to me while smoking a lamb leg just after the first hurricane wiped out my grill gazebo. Fortunately I was able to save the lamb. Glad your were able to rescue yours. (I had no idea MC Hammer was still around...)
