Adding a WSM to a trailer

I've got this idea of setting my WSM on a trailer, adding a small fridge, and a couple power outlets to make a mobile smoker for camping/tailgating.....maybe even catering/competition if I ever got to that point.

Anyone here attempted something like this? I'd like to get any feedback I could.

Funny you posted this. I was just looking at trailers on CL for doing the exact same thing. I have 2 18.5's that I made a roll around cart that I push up into my truck, but I was thinking it would be easier to just have a trailer.

I had been taking the smokers to work to cook, but though about doing some competitions one day, if I ever feel I have mastered the competition aspect of smoking (apparently it is a whole different thing).

I think you could find a perfect size trailer for around 250-300 if you look long enough. I just saw a couple that would be perfect.

I previously bought some toggle clamps for the roll around cart which clamp on the feet/legs of the smoker and I think they would be perfect for a trailer as well

Rick, there's a couple trailers I've seen at harbor freight that I think would do the trick. My smoker is the 22" but I was thinking about a dual smoker setup too....and throw a Stoker ATC on it just to make it truely ridiculous.

Those little trailers bounce around quite a bit. Hate to hit a good bump and see WSM pieces in mid air behind me.

I was thinking about taking my WSM to the desert in the enclosed trailer this year, but was scared of it bouncing around too much. Not to scared of the the smoker, but all the toys in the trailer.

Ive taken mine in our hauler to the desert but I broke the WSM down into three pieces. The coating on the middle section did get messed up a little from rubbing something. Next time I need a smoker I think I'll take my UDS because, well its ugly.

I have twist locks on bottom 2 sections of the smoker, then I put the cover on, then I strap it over the top so it doesn't bounce around to much
