Adding a Sideburner to a Genesis or Spirit (right hand controls)

I'm a noob to the website and to the vast world of Webers- thoughI've owned my Genesis Silver B for about 13 years. It's just been recently that I really took an interest in the grilling hobby. So if this is a repeat question- please forgive me- I tried using the search but I didn't find anything in the Gas Grills.

Is it possible to add a side burner to an old style Spirit or Genesis that has the right hand controls- circa 2004? I would seem as though in theory it could be done, but I assume a lot - namely that the frames are the same and the burner merely drops in on the left side once the panel is removed. I understand a manifold has to be be replaced as well as an igniter- so maybe the cost isn't worth doing it considering a good 2004 Spirit E320 might be had for the same price(?)

Did I just answer my own question?

I appreciate the help!

Yes if you can find the burner. Since you won't find one brand new I suggest to start watching CL for one of near your vintage that is a disaster and can be had on the cheap which is equipped with one. Than salvage it for the parts
