ABT's

I have made some ABT's. I still have a butt going on the bottom rack. The cooker temp is at 230 at the top. Can I just cook the ABT's over the butt even though it's meat temp is 170? Will the raw bacon drippings hurt or will it all get cooked?

Can't answer your specific question, but in my opinion, bacon drippings work well with just about everything. Since you're pork on pork what's the harm?

Those bacon drippings won't hurt the butt at all.
The internal temp of the butt may be 170, but the surface temp will be considerably higher.
