Aaron Rodgers finally joins Jets in trade with Packers, ends 18-year run in Green Bay

There are also cases where guys have "elite seasons, or even elite moments" playing on good teams, like when Nick Foles helped the Eagles defeat T Brady and the Pats in 2018.
The Philly Special play, the win and Jason Kelce's beer influenced celebration speech, are some of the greatest moments in NFL history ;)

I'm dating myself here, but those pale in comparison to Super Bowl XVII when the Skins dialed up the now historic play, "I-Right 70 Chip" on 4th & 1 and handed the ball off to John Riggins who ran it for a 43 yard TD against Miami. One of the great things about that play, that many overlook, is that after that historic run, Riggo tosses the ball to the official and jogged to the sidelines. No showboating. No dancing around. No choreographed celebration with the O-line and the water boy. Just treats it like he's been there before. Those were the days. Yikes! I really am dating myself here!

I didn't really remember Riggins too much when I was growing up, but I remember that Barry Sanders did pretty much the same thing. No celebration. Just act like he'd been there before and hand the ball to the ref. I loved watching that guy play.

Where's the "choreographed celebration"? I missed it. And yes, you're dating yourself. Why not reminisce about Paul Hornung or Joe Namath too?
The NFL won't let me link the video but all I see is a play that baffled the Patriots winning machine and pulled an outstanding Superbowl win from them with player to player congratulations afterwards.

No "choregraphed celebration" in the examples that you cited, just a general statement on the state of the game today. Yes, I'm old school and players celebrating routine plays, like they just won the Super Bowl, annoy me. Make the tackle, block, whatever, and act like you've been there before. Some of those end-zone celebrations are cringe-worthy. IMHO, some of these players would be better served spending more time in the film room, and less time practicing TD dances. As a long-time, (and long suffering), season ticket holder, I feel like I have a vested interest in the team. But.....that's just my opinion, which I'm entitled to, as you are to yours. 🍻

The reason for quoting your post, is that I don't consider a Philly trick play and a "beer influenced celebration speech" as some of the "greatest moments in NFL history" Noteworthy? Absolutely. "greatest moments?" We'll agree to disagree on that one. That being said, I'm a Skins fan, so take it for what it's worth which, (since Snyder bought the team), hasn't been worth much:cautious:
Yeah... I'm old, but not "Paul Hornung or Joe Namath" old ;)

Sweetness # 34 was from the same cloth. IIRC the whole show boat stuff started with Gastineau doing his sack dance.
