A Tale of Two First Gen Summits. LP conversion?

I have one first gen LP Summit working. The second one is mostly back together.....but I believe it to be Natural Gas. The bottom manifold in the first picture is the NG and has larger gas orifices.

The second picture shows the NG regulator. Opening the cap of the regulator does not show convertibility like this one:

Has any converted one successfully or is it best to find a donor manifold with the correct parts? If it'd work, I'd need

The third pic is the LP setup of the working Summit 450.

It can be done but you need to know A LOT about gas flow, pressures and what not. However once done PROPERLY from LP to NG you cannot go back and you cannot truly convert a NG to LP. And you won't find the proper manifold to do the job correctly and safely so you're best to stick with how it came from the factory. That is the safest thing to do

I'm wanting to swap to LP so I'm probably stuck with finding a replacement manifold, or just selling this NG one. It's in great shape for $60. I'd read some of your other posts about conversions, so I knew it was going to be difficult.

What do you think about that part I posted, the regulator that can be changed to LP?

There is nothing wrong with the regulator but it's the properties of LP vs NG and the way Weber spec'd manifold/valve assemblies to be only one or the other. Really not a customer oriented practice IMO.

Outside of replacing the orifices and regulator, if the valves and manifold are inherently different, then it's looking like a donor LP manifold or just selling it. Thanks.
