Hope this works just checking to see if my pictures download ok.

Got home last night after work and there was this big white box sittin at the front door waiting for me! Got it in the garage, cracked a cold brew and Vola a work of art. To nice to get dirty actually, even gave her a buff.

Quick question though, ordered chips instead of chunks, should I exchange??

Thanks

Chips work just soak them and put them in foil pouches. Congratulations on your new addition. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Thanks Bob, do i poke holes in the pouches?

Rob, Just poke one hole the size of a tooth pick and next time get chunks.

Looking at your new baby I was wondering why there are so many holes in the hood. Looks like a shot gun blast hit it. OH MY it must be the light coming thru the wholes in you ceiling!

Nice BUTT is easy and very tasty.

Depending on where you are, I would suggest taking a drive out to the country and finding some apple wood. Even a fist full of 1" diameter trimmed branches will last a long time.

For a first cook I would recommend doing a higher heat chicken cook. If you really want to be adventurous I would look up the Roadside Chicken recipe... while it's not "smoking", it is freakin delicous.

Congratulations, Rob! Cherish the newness -- and then GET COOKING!

My favorite for a new smoker is a meatloaf. Great flavor and gets nice and smoky.
