9lb pork butt

Hi All,

Decided to blow off work tomorrow and thinking of throwing on a 9 lb butt tonight. The only thing I have the injector ready with marinade but did not rub it overnight. Should I hold off till next weekend or give it a go. I have yet to do a butt so any info is appreciated.

Oh by all means give it a go. I normally rub mine down an hour or two before i put it on the WSM.The rub can only pentrate so far any who.

I am with Bryan, if you get the rub from the Texas BBQ Rub website you only need to wait 3 minuets from rub to smoker!!

Throw that butt on and let us know how it goes...of course get another butt for next weeekend!!

Id like to 3rd this one,,,
Go for it.
Rub it and fire that bad boy up and get that butt on there when its ready.
Dont waste this oppritunity since your blowing off work tomorrow.

Thanks all for the input - Greg I still have enough of the Texas Rub for one more smoke but I will need to order more tomorrow.
