Hi Team, its been a while!

Miss chatting with you all! I hope everyone has been well!
Question, I'm looking for a 4 probe temp monitor. I first was going to get the Maverick XR50 BUT when I went to Amazon I saw 2 different variants, XR50 and XR50 PRO. When I reached out to Maverick directly the contact told me they do not sell on Amazon so one or both are possible counterfeits. Turned me off so I started to look into Thermoworks smoke 4x but ready the battery life is sub par....I've been using my trustee maverick 733s for many years with no issues but they are pretty beat and looking to upgrade.

Thanks in advance

Johnny

Are you looking at wireless or wired? WIFI capable or Bluetooth only. Understand the the Thermoworks product is proprietary and you must keep their device with you or in earrshot. I have one. hated it. But I will tell you battery life was actually VERY good. I have been using this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DGGPSX3N?tag=tvwb-20 and it performs VERY well though there are things about it that still "put me off". Not sure if they make a 4 probe version but you could easily buy 2 of the ones I have.
I also own the Chef IQ https://www.amazon.com/CHEF-iQ-Thermometer-Ultra-Thin-Unlimited/dp/B0DZDYKX19?tag=tvwb-20 and I must say it's FAR and away a better user interface than the GoveeLife, but customer support is really MEH. Mine died under warranty and it took them 6 weeks to finally get the replacement to me.
ThermoPro also makes some good ones and my past experience with that company has been stellar

My experience with Bluetooth, and or proprietary wireless has been MEH at best. Range is WAY overstated. The ones I have (ThermoPro and Thermoworks) both BARELY make it into my house from outside. IMO WIFI is a must have not "nice to have".

Honestly I've been out of it for a bit, so I was looking for wired but then upon my research there are all these wireless options but none with impressive reviews. I'll certainly review the recommendations posted, wireless would be nice but it has to work thru walls. My 733s make it thru 4 closed doors and walls.

I've got some reading to do...

Thank you both

I have the Thermoworks smoke X4 and I use it all the time. Batteries issues? Mine lasts a long time.

My only complaints are the beeps at the control are loud and I had to put cotton and stainless tape over the back for it to be quieter.

The smoke X4 will also run a billows, and I have one yet I don't use the billows that often.

I have a Thermoworks X4 like Dan's, and for the most part, I like it and would recommend it.

The alarms and the button press sounds are loud, but I usually turn the volume down.

A small issue is that turning the volume down does apply to both the button presses and alarms, so the alarms aren't very loud with the volume low.
