I recently restored my 6th SSP. It has been 7 or 8 years since I last restored one.
One of the problem areas on these grill is the joint where the Frame Rails bolt to the Frames.
This time around, I decided to improve this area of the grill.
I designed and 3D printed some caps to cover these joints to keep the rail out.
If you have the LPG Tank, you will need one for that location to bolt the bottom of the tank holder to the frame/rail.
These just press fit and seem to stay put as if snapped on. A little VHB tape would hold them down securely.

Weber SSP Frame Rail Caps by ChapinPL
These are to protect the SSP frame rail joints from water. These joints are notorious for rusting out. This is one of the areas that leads to the demise of otherwise great grills.
