Greetings; I have had my EX4 2nd Gen since mid 2021. Over the past weekend I realized two items that finally bit the bullet. Curious about other users on this forum having a similar experience? I keep my smoke fire under a complete roof coverage in an outdoor kitchen. I mostly do slower cooks at lower temps and usually put a protective foil basket underneath what I'm typically smoking. I realized that my EX4 brackets holding up the flavorer bars and the diffuser element finally rusted apart. Does this sound normal to this group? Weber is sending replacements so we are good but could this be due to high temps when doing pizza for longer periods?

It could be high heat but I've heard others attribute it to humidity. I'm on the high heat side because I'm in Florida with year round humidity and I do little high heat cooks. .My EX6 has been steadily used for 39 months and my metal erosion isn't much at all.

Contact Weber, tell them it's rusted through and it should be covered under warranty.

I think it’s more location. Have seen a couple post with rusted out hangers. Mine is used for typically lower temp cooks (225/250) but does get cranked up to 350-450 on occasion. But I’m super dry (even with 4’ of snow down) and low humidity.

And I do believe every one that’s posted has had them warranted.
