Thanks. I asked the seller if the lid had a shield in the lid and in response he sent a photo of the grates. They were SS, but so badly caked up, I didn't even go look at the grill, especially for the price he wanted for it or how long he had owned it. Just looking for a grill to have parts on hand to keep my grill in shape and my son's as well. Sooner or later one will pop up. Not seeing many older grills, but a flood of new ones discounted like other parts of the country. A guy at HD said lots of people are bailing to pellet grills or going back to kettles due to the price of the new Weber gas units.
