Yea, the gas model has issues with blowing out in a small breeze of any sort.
I have tried several things but no real success yet. I still have a few more ideas to try yet. So till then, the gas one must be shielded from any moving air.
I have tried the foil around the opening, made a shield over the air inlet and shielded the burner from the lower holes.
none were perfect and rely heavily on the direction of the breeze. So far the best trick again is to shield the ga. But lets keep trying !
I had an old Coleman ( I think) cook top table, which had a back and fold up side shields.
It worked OK on that.
I don't know where I got it, but haven't seen anything like it on the web.
Those were standard coleman gas grills. I have one still. I need to get a seal for the valve assembly to get it going again. The weber seems to have issues with the air coming from underneath as they hardly blow out when the lid is off.
Ok, misunderstood. They still make them. Rather nice bug I no longer camp. Hmm, maybe that might solve a few issues for me. Guess I will keep an eye out for a cheapy.
