I have been reading this forum for a while now but this is my first post. Also just started my 1st brisket on my 22.5" WSM. An 11 lb packer and It's been on about an hour with a stable temp around 240 in about 25 degree weather. I have a new Maverick ET-732 that I'm having trouble with. The receiver loses signal and flat lines after about 3 or 4 minutes even when I keep it right next to the transmitter. Anyone else have this problem?

Thank you. It's coming along great. I pulled it at 190 just a few min ago. Wrapped it and its in the cooler resting. I'm going to separate the point here shortly to make burnt ends and ABT's. I will post pictures when I can sit down and figure out how.

Hi Paige and welcome aboard.

I have an ET-732, I haven't had your problem.
The unit is rated to read temperatures from 32F to 572F. Maybe your cold weather has something to do with it.
Try changing the batteries and see if that helps.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. It was about 65 the first time I used it so I don't think cold weather was the problem. I changed the batteries before also, that was the first thing the lady said when I called the company. Anyway, they said I must have a defective receiver so they are mailing me a new one. They didn't even ask any more questions about it. Great customer service.
