Anyone here know anything about sports memorabilia?

My Father in law passed a couple of years ago and left a fairly sizeable collection.
Roughly 350 pieces or so. Lots of local stuff, but quite large amount of national
sports figures. I contacted one dealer about buying the whole lot, but he gave
an admitted low ball offer. He shot straight and told us it was basically 10% of
what it could likely sell for. But he is a business man, and it takes a lot of work.
I was fine with his honesty, but not fine with the price. I did not call any other
dealers. Should I call another, or are they all going to say the same thing?
Selling 2-300 items on eBay could take FOREVER, and is helluva lot of work.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Try a local auctioneer. He may be able to combine your father in law’s collection with some other things (that aren’t large enough to auction off by themselves) and have a complete auction. I’ve seen it done countless times wit good results.
Good luck,
Tim
