I did a quickie break-in with a couple of scoops of coals, some mesquite, pecan and hickory wood chunks, a Jimmy Dean Fatty, a few strips of bacon and a couple of chicken leg quarters. Used the snap jet gas ignition to light the coals. Worked flawlessly! Just smoked a couple of Pork Butts and then did a 7 lb. Beef Brisket (flat only) for the inaugural runs on the new Summit Charcoal. Absolutely wonderful! The butts and brisket were great. Lowered the center charcoal grate and used the minion method for both the butt cook and the brisket cook. Perfect temp all the way through all the cooks.
