Question about flavorizer bars


 
Yes, they are functional until there are holes in them.

If you want to replace them, I recommend rcplanebuyer's replacements found on eBay.

You can probably scrub a bunch of the "rust" off (it might just be burnt grease) but be careful in case there are sharp edges.

Dean, if you have to replace, it comes down to a question of cash flow versus value, and also how long you intend to keep the grill. Stainless steel is best, the thicker the gauge, the better. RCPlanebuyer makes the best bars. I have sets that are 8 years old and are still absolutely rock solid. That said, other people make bars as well, from lower gauge and lower quality stainless. They probably won't last as long, but they cost less.
