Not sure if anyone has noticed this yet, but I picked up a 2014 (AH model code) WGA Charcoal today and low and behold I noticed the lower air holes are now oval vs round (see pic below). Its appears the total area of the oval hole is the about the same as the round one when I compared it to my older WGA charcoal. Seems like with the oval holes you have the ability now to fully expose the holes with the damper vs the damper with round holes covering them a bit even in the full open position. It'll be interesting to see if it changes the way it cooks any.
