Foil Covered 22" Pan

Just an FYI. I use the foil cover method for the past couple of years about 99.8% of the time. Crumpled pieces of foil on the bottom and then cover the pan with two layers of foil. As I and others have posted you have to join two pieces of foil to make it fit. Last night I went to change the foil (after a couple of cooks) and the drippings found their way through two layers of sealed foil and settled underneath the crumpled foil forming kinda a glue. From now on a layer of foil will go on first and then the rest of the setup.

I can imagine using sand with joined foil top will even be worse.
