the ash catcher on my new kettle is tough to get off sometimes. Other times its easy it seems its the aluminum on aluminum that is causing the stick. Is there some trick to stop this? Seems to me at least one of those componets should have been coated to make it slippery

Hey Roger..Dont sweat it..how old is it? I have a 10 year old performer that is super easy to get off..never a prob. On my blue OTG, its more sticky, just seems off...takes me a couple attempts to get it on right...who knows. Its over a year old and always been that way.

The bowl rubs where the housing is attached at the legs. I flipped mine over and marked with a pencil at each side of the legs at the locked-unlocked position and used a bastard file to bevel the outside edge on the bowl. A Dremel or mini-grinder would make this a snap.
