Spray Painting the sides of Gasser shrouds-reconditioning

I have mildly refurbished a handful of older Gassers and from what I have seen, usually the enameled part of the shroud can just be cleaned, but the black painted cast sides of the shroud usually have a white residue and I have always painted with a flat black high heat paint from HD(I usually tape off the enamel finish sp there is no overspray.

On the newer Genesis, it seems like they are painted a gray color-has anyone had any luck with painting and matching this color? I know there is probably a gray high heat available-just hoping someone has found a "perfect match" and can provide a brand/paint color name. I have a newer S-310 that has some brown heat spots on it-can this be cleaned off the gray painted cast sides or does this need to be painted over?

I am interested to hear some answers as I recently bought a silver C and the enamel is in great shape but the shrouds do show some wear.
