Weber Genesis Gold?

Hey Everyone,

My old Costco grill kicked the bucket so my Grandad said I cold have his.

I went to pick it up and it is a Weber Genesis Gold.

Is this a good grill?

I don't know anything about it other than it was free and he said it has upgraded racks.

Is that a good grill? Is the Pope Catholic? Does a bear sh.... well, you know.

Yes, it's an excellent grill and I suspect your Grandfather took good care of it. I am primarily a charcoal man, but I have three Weber gas grills - a Weber Genesis Silver B, a Q220 and a Weber Genesis, Jr. All are excellent grills and do a great job. I can't speak for the newer Weber gas grills like the Spirit, but the ones with a few years on them are built with the traditional Weber quality and stand the test of time.

I have the Genesis C silver and it's just amazing. I paid a heck of a lot more than you did and would do it again in a heart beat. I THINK the big difference is that your is SS instead of PC shroud.

I have had a couple of Weber Genesis Golds (around 2005/2004) and I really liked them. They have SS grates and SS Flavorizer bars, which are going to last a long time compared to their porcelain grate/bar standards that are on Genesis Silver models-plus they are really sturdy grills...
