    Smokey Mountain Cookers in color

I imagine that's what mine would look like if I gave the outside a thorough cleaning.

Dark green to match my kettle. But not that yellow-green (Spring Green?).

    Other Pets

Not pets, exactly, but we have an undetermined number of eastern box turtles in our back yard.

What do you think of this.....

A quick read of this article and I can give you the Cliff's Notes version: "Avoid these steaks because I don't know how to cook them." I can't wait for the author's next article on Italian sports cars: "Ferraris and Lamborghinis You Should Avoid".

Thrift Store Find - KitchenAid Pro Line KPWB100OB Waffle Baker

I got this Presto a while back and have really enjoyed it. Your deal is like a $10 WSM, I've always hoped to see one but never really expected to. Like EricV, I use Krusteaz, but in my quest to duplicate the waffles I used to get at hotel continental breakfasts I have been experimenting with...

    Question of the day!!!

Ketchup, used mostly (sparingly) on french fries, but also as a base for bbq sauce (for ribs) and cocktail sauce for seafood (ketchup, horseradish, dash of hot sauce, Worcestershire, and lemon juice).

My WSM, not me. At 2003 prices I should have bought more than one.

    Monster Bird

The only time I ever bought a turkey that size - to get the special sale price - I had the guy at the store cut it in half, and I wrapped and froze it like two small turkeys. But that was years ago, when grocery stores still had meat departments that cut their steaks and made ground beef.

    Interesting gadget on Woot

I don't know how well this would work in a 22" kettle, if at all, but I thought it was worth a look. https://tools.woot.com/offers/cooking-fit-for-large-big-green-egg-2?ref=cnt_wp_0_65

From the "Thanks, But No Thanks" Dept: Beercoal is back

I assumed that this was the charcoal from the final stage of brewing Miller Lite. You know, the step where they filter it through charcoal to remove any traces of beer.

    Cooking ribs today

The finished product. I had a very good dinner with my daughter, son-in-law, and two of my grandchildren. All in all, a fantastic day.
