Is there any way of getting rid of the attached mark? I'm not quite sure what it is. It is not on the porcelain, and I don't know what it is. 0000 steel wool does not help.

My 1995 vintage kettle is missing the ash pan. Is there a commonly available improvised ash pan? I'm trying to keep costs low, and replacement pans are about as much as a whole OTG assembly (40-60). I have the very rusty original clips

I think this may be the case. Red mist pictures are lousy to compare to. It is almost like the Crimson that Weber currently offers.
