    Tri-Tip Reverse Sear

Turns out the Summit Charcoal comes predrilled with a hole in the perfect spot... right next to the gas burner tube. You just have to pop out a little metal plug that the grill ships with and you're set. Weber doesn't mention that hole in the specs anywhere that I can find but it is definitely...

    Tri-Tip Reverse Sear

Thanks Lynn. I have been finding that the dome temp gauge seems to come up faster than my digital probe but after the grill settles in for a bit, they both tend to be in agreement or within 10-15 degrees. I think it also depends on my placement of the digital probe. I tend to place it on the...

    Tri-Tip Reverse Sear

Found a nice tri-tip at Costco and thought I'd give it a reverse sear. Used some kingsford pro briquettes and a first sized chunk of hickory. smoked @ 240 degrees for about an hour then pulled at 120F. spread the coals and heated the grill to 400. Then direct cooked the meat to 135F. Used weber...

Weber Summit Charcoal Grill and Summit Charcoal Grilling Center - New for 2016

I was rereading my post and it made me laugh.. maybe a bit over dramatic but I had just had the center insert fall into the pile of coal causing an ash cloud that got my boxers in a twist ;) All in all it really is a great grill. That is the only complaint I can come up with. I wish that there...

    Brisket Leftovers

Thanks for the link! I just ordered a pair. Having moved to Boise from CA a few years ago I definitely miss the tacos! :) We make pretty good ones but I feel like I've been doing it the hard way after seeing those racks.

Weber Summit Charcoal Grill and Summit Charcoal Grilling Center - New for 2016

Been loving my WSCG. Although after several weeks of ownership I have found one issue that drives me nuts... Granted it is not the biggest deal, but.... I HATE the Weber Gourmet BBQ system cutout in the grill grate. Seems like it should have been an option instead of the only option. The grill...

It’s a nice day to smoke some ribs!

Thanks for the kind words. Ribs turned out great. They cooked a little too long but they were still very moist. The WSC saved me on this one. Had the grill for abut 2 weeks now. It gets wiped down more than my car. :)

It’s a nice day to smoke some ribs!

My mother in law is visiting so it’s a good day to be out back smoking ribs. I’ll let the cyberQ do the work and I’ll make sure the beer stays cold. Trying out a couple rubs from amazon: butt rub and bone suckin sauce..not sure why they call that last one a sauce, it’s a rub, but I...

    Weber Summit Charcoal mod

Hi Scott. I'm not sure if I'm reading your response correctly but I don't think weber intends for us to use the charcoal baskets in the "smoke" configuration on the WSC. I think you're just supposed to place the charcoal grate in the lower position and load up as much coal in there as you can...

    Hello from Boise, Idaho!

Hi Bill. Keep this between us so nobody else hears and wants to move here...:) Life is good in Boise. Friendly, small town atmosphere with big city amenities and a great outdoor lifestyle. I moved here about 5 years ago from San Diego Ca and while it is pretty different from there, I like it and...

    Hello from Boise, Idaho!

Long time lurker here. Thought it was time to come out of the shadows. :) I started my Weber habit with a WSM 18 a few years ago. thevirtualweberbullet was definitely a great find for me and helped me avoid a lot of mistakes early on. Since then I picked up a 22” kettle and most recently a WSC...
