Lost access when my router rebooted

I would but it's built in to the RPi 3B+. Next time I just won't screw around with my router during a cook.

Lost access when my router rebooted

My router rebooted during a cook and I couldn't reconnect to my HeaterMeter afterward. I got a Luci page with a link that didn't go anywhere. Had to reboot my Heatermeter to get it to come back. I lost my history for the cook, which isn't a big deal. Just curious if there's a way I could have...

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

Cool. I just went through and did exactly this. Seems to be fine. I get some clicks some times but it seems to settle in after a short time. Not sure if that's a concern or just an annoyance.

Oh that makes sense. I thought my settings I put in might be assuming a certain servo position. I'll give that a look now. Thanks again.

Is the buzzing solved in the same settings as the pulse duration setting?

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

Thanks. I've done the manual control and it looks like it's fine. I adjusted two of the values to ensure that the servo is closed completely at 0% and opened fully at 100%. I'll leave the values alone for now and see how the first cook goes. Expect more questions!

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

I'm getting ready for my first cook with my Heatermeter and adapt-a-damper. Testing it on the floor of my office, it looks like it's working. What should I be looking for in real world use? I see people talking about PID tuning, but truthfully that section of the wiki is a bit over my head. I...

Thanks again! If I can get this PETG to behave, I'll print this today.

Newbie help - first build issues

Hell yeah! I remembered I had a probe from an iGrill mini my wife gave me. Plugged it in and I get a reading from my pit probe! All the probes work and now I'll have two working food probes. One probably not as good as the other, but good enough for now. Thanks for the tip on the dumb Maverick...

Newbie help - first build issues

I didn't get the thermocouple option. I may regret it, but I gathered that for a smoker I won't need it. We'll see. I can always add it on later. I installed the resistors as the wiki mentioned for not having the thermocouple so I should be good there. I don't have the thermoworks probes yet...

Newbie help - first build issues

I bought Thermoworks probes (one pit and one food) in case my Mavericks were too old for the HM. They work in the Maverick so seems like they'd work here, but I don't know. Good to start with fresh stuff I guess. I'm open to any other thoughts or help.

Newbie help - first build issues

Got everything (except for the damper) put together last night. Loaded the HM image onto my SD card, and nothing. The RPi wouldn't boot. Tried a few times, thought it might be an SD Card issue, but base Raspbian booted. I finally got the development snapshot to load, so I guess I'm good there...

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

That would be amazing. Thanks for doing this. I'm looking forward to getting this all running.

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

I was referring to the fan on my original post. The RJ45 keystone is in the Bottom Case Box, right? Not part of the threaded parts. Doesn't matter. I'll get it in one way or another.

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

If you mean the ethernet jack, I haven't quite gotten that far. I need to put the wires in because it looks like it installed with the wires facing the case, not open to the top.

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

Maybe? I got it in there eventually. I had a long post written up with pics and everything, but then I realized what I was doing wrong and got everything where it need to be. I don't think it's ever coming out though. I got my servo today too so I'll be putting this all together this week. I'm...

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

Another question: What Delta fan is the BottomCase_V2_Delta meant to fit? The fan that my HM kit came with doesn't fit into the box. I can get it in most of the way, but the blower outlet doesn't entirely line up with the hole in the box. This is a Delta BFB0512VHD. If there is a better blower...

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

Thanks Bryan! I've got a grey case for the heatermeter and am doing the damper in red, so hopefully those are light enough. I'll give the damper a test run and see how it holds up before i set it to go for a butt smoke.

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

Hey, it's been a few years since this got answered. Is this still better to print with ABS vs PLA? If so I have to go buy some ABS.

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Ralph, I sent you an email on this but maybe it's good to have here as well. Do you have suggestions for printing the body? The dovetail isn't printing great for me. I used supports for it and it's not fitting into the wiring box.
