    Smoke issue

Im familiar with the thin blue smoke, but there was nothing coming out. I was just wondering if there was not enough airflow to smolder the wood

    Smoke issue

So I smoked some ribs in my kamado Joe yesterday and kept noticing no smoke coming out of the top. I used 4 chunks of apple wood and there was smoke rolling when I put the ribs on. My heatermeter was attached and the rotodamper was open around 50%. This is the second or third time I've...

    Alexa skill

I remember seei g somewhere that the bbqguru had an alexa skill that could announce the temp on different probes. Since the heater meter is wifi connected I think it would be possible. This came to me while in the shower wanting to check on my cook lol.

    Rib failure

I like that idea. I found some aligator clips on bbqguru's site and I just hope it will fit over my new pit probe. Im going to try to open my KJ top damper and route the cable through there and clip it on the dome thermometer.

    Rib failure

So I received a lot of accessories for my kamado joe for Christmas and I was anxious to fire up the grill and smoke some ribs. I hooked the heater meter up and put my 3 slabs of baby backs on. I decided to do no foil for the first time. I set the heater meter to 225 degrees and said I wouldn't...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

I ordered a second one from Walmart.com. Hopefully it will be in today and I can test it out.

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

I tried the servo outside of the RD3 same issue. Ordered a different servo hopefully that will work.

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

I just installed my roto damper and wired it up. The servo is jumping around and not much changes as I attempt to manually adjust the damper. I have gone into configuration and set it from 700-2100 and made sure the invert box is unchecked. I've also tried for different ethernet cables...

    I screwed up on assembly

Well turns out I was wrong. I thought it was the dip socket on the main board that I screwed up, I was wrong. It was actually the little texas instrument chip on the button board that i installed wrong. I know I'm going to have to desolder and reverse it. It is a slow process getting thos...

    I screwed up on assembly

It is on the correct side of the board just backwards. Do I still line up the divots between the socket and chip, or put the chip in backwards? Thank you for the help

    I screwed up on assembly

So I screwed up and put the dip socket on backwards on the base board. Instead of desoldering all the pins to turn it around, would it be possible to just reverse the chip that goes in it? Just wondering.
