    HM Cook notes

I think I have seen a thread in the past, but I couldn't find it when I search for it. At the moment I tend to use Evernote and include the full configuration URL and a screenshot of the graph, but this seems inefficient. What do other people use? Basically this part of the wishlist: - Archive...

    Getting Started with HeaterMeter

I run a WSM 18 and I bought the Weber adapter from BBQ Guru (https://www.bbqguru.com/storenav?CategoryId=2&ProductId=6) and use a RD3 (RotoDamper3). I am planning on doing my first brisket tomorrow and can take a picture of the connections is you want.

no more ip address? therefore no more wifi monitoring...

From your home network open a browser and point to http://heatermeter.com/devices/ This will help if you missed the IP when it flashed on the LCD. Is your HM using wifi or hard wired?

MAJOR security vulnerability in HeaterMeter firmware (dnsmasq)

OK, I wasn't sure if the backup configs were safe across versions. Thanks!

MAJOR security vulnerability in HeaterMeter firmware (dnsmasq)

That link failed with the same error, so I put a fresh image on another SD card. What is the best way (if there is one) to recover the various configs from the old one (alarms, e-mail, etc). Or do I just start over and keep a backup elsewhere going forward? NOTE: I DID generate a backup before...

MAJOR security vulnerability in HeaterMeter firmware (dnsmasq)

How do I recover, or do I just need to re-image the SD?

MAJOR security vulnerability in HeaterMeter firmware (dnsmasq)

Failure - I just tried applying this and failed. The main monitor page comes up, but if I click any of the links along the bottom (Login, Alarms, Archive or Configuration) I get the following error: /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:354: Access Violation The page at 'admin/lm/home/' has no parent...

    Keyhole Holes in 4.3 Case?

My vote would be for an optional case with holes that is a little taller/thicker.

70 degree probe swings - they aren't real, but why are they happening?

Thanks. Unfortunately, I was 't paying enough attention at the end of the cook. I will test both my meat probes. Did you notice it all the time, or was it sporadic once it started happening? Thanks, -Mark

70 degree probe swings - they aren't real, but why are they happening?

Bryan - thanks for responding. I saw the noise icon at the beginning, but it went away. I will probably wait till I am done with this cook and then do an ice bath test on both meat probes with and without extensions. The meat 1 probe and corresponding pork butt are currently wrapped in foil in...

70 degree probe swings - they aren't real, but why are they happening?

Pit temp (TC) , meat 1(probe 2 - thermister) and ambient (probe 3 - thermister) are all acting normal and smooth.

70 degree probe swings - they aren't real, but why are they happening?

I currently have 2 pork butts on a WSM 18. I have pulled one and is sitting in a cooler and I am seeing 70 degree temp swings. I have an HM 4.3 with thermoworks thermister meat probes with a thermoworks extension. I removed the extension and see the same behavior. My initial through is a probe...

    HeaterMeater Stash vanished

No, I had the unit in the house, checking on some servo issues and then moved it outside, so it has been power cycled. Thanks for looking into and finding this.

    HeaterMeater Stash vanished

Thanks, but not a huge issue for me. I did have a stash backup, so I think I only actually lost one cook. I'll probably just sftp them back up there once my current cook is done. I can check the logs if you think there might be something there and you can point me in the right direction... I am...

    HeaterMeater Stash vanished

I am new to HM. I had about 5-6 cooks stashed in the archive and had my HM powered down while I was out of town (7 days). I powered it back up today and they are gone. I sshed into the unit and the whole stash directory is gone. I figure they are lost for good (if I am wrong that would be...

HeaterMeter 4.3.3 WiFi issues with a Raspberry Pi 3

Once again - Bryan is the man. Thanks!! That solved the issue. Now, how do I buy you a beer remotely? ;-)

HeaterMeter 4.3.3 WiFi issues with a Raspberry Pi 3

I can get the HM top connect to the extender (at least I think so), if I get within about 20 feet of it, but 25 is too far... I am right at the edge of connectivity.

HeaterMeter 4.3.3 WiFi issues with a Raspberry Pi 3

I have a new HM 4.3.3 with an RP 3. In the house the Wifi works fine (to connect to my home wifi), but outside, even with an extender (which works for other devices) I have issues. The HM is between the house and the extender, so it should be getting signal from two sides. So far I have been...

    Thermowork probe extensions available now

They were just released. I spoke to them about 3 weeks ago and they were getting ready to release them. I have two on order. ;-)
