Cody, Yes, the pedal is used to tighten the Jaws then the item is locked in place with the switch. The BenchJaws will hold up to 16" wide. Jeff

I had a couple older restores that came with a wrapped wire support instead of a Manifold Bracket. The first one I thought was a owner installed item but it was perfectly made. Jeff
