Store is back up. TedK, you're most certainly welcome. That's a good looking graph for your first cook. If you have a chance I'd encourage you to share your settings for others.

Hey Begg! Things seem to be doing a bit better right now. I still have to finish building that drone we were talking about a year ago!

Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

The webstore at www.microdamper.com is now open. Sorry for the delays guys I've had all sorts of problems in the last few months that have hindered my ability to get back to this. Not sure if and when I'll get back to printing cases, but DIY MicroDamper kits will be available.

The MD is plenty of power on a BGE or the like. Check your settings and make sure everything is functioning as it should

Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

If it causes your HM to crash, it is most likely that you have short somewhere, or like Bryan said your servo is jammed up - BUT, I check every servo for functionality before they are shipped out so I doubt that's your problem.

Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

Sorry I haven't been around much guys! I've been crazy crazy busy with work - in and out of town constantly - the free time I did have I spent with my wife which was fairly minimum. Work is now dying down and I should be at home for the foreseeable future which means I will be printing...

reducing to 3/4-in would reduce the efficiency of the entire system and would result in very poor results.

    Fire not getting enough oxygen?

It's tough enough trying to get an offset running off of charcoal in a charcoal basket to operate smoothly, putting in fresh pieces of wood every 45 minutes is not conducive to great temperature control. If you have to tinker with your pit so much that you can't take a whiz without things going...

    Fire not getting enough oxygen?

I'm sorry, why are you trying to use a controller on your pit when you need to feed it splits every 45 minutes? I've never run a controller on my stickburner and I don't plan to because a stick burner requires wood so often there's no need for a controller.

    Boilerplate CSS

Your food won't know any difference at 10-15 degrees. Hell your home oven is most likely 20-30 degrees or more and it cooks just fine. It's all about knowing when the food is done

    Lock washers

Good call. I'm an idiot, I don't know why I didn't realize that

    Lock washers

Nord-Lock washers work great! Don't know why you wouldn't just use loc-tite though

I'm no good when it comes to that stuff, but I wanted to say your home screen looks awesome!

    PID Tuning Help

Yeah you need to get your PID settings better, you have long periods where your pit isn't getting any air. You need consistent airflow to have clean combustion. Judging by what I see you likely have a blower setup... I'm not too good at estimating PID settings for blowers, but there are plenty...

    PID Tuning Help

Changing your PID won't fix it. It's hard, really, to diagnose without seeing a graph but try increasing your fan speed so your pit gets more oxygen for a cleaner burn

    Thermistor on v4.2

Yeah, it just takes the temp of the inside of the HM case - not terribly useful. Much more useful to use an actual probe and hang it in the air away from the pit.
