Thanks Andrea, I added it to post number 2, I will update the downloadable files soon. Best, Daniel

Feature request / workaround / bug report WLAN...

Hey Bryan, nice to hear that I was able to contribute a bit (at least with the idea ;-). As you mentioned the wifi-ap commands in the post, I saw them and realized that this would indeed make the script nicer and shorter. However, I didn't have time to look into it, and it was working for me...

Feature request / workaround / bug report WLAN...

@Tony L-Iowa: Yes, it will do exactly that. @Steve_M: Will work, as long as your phone is on and within WLAN reach. But you would have to reboot your pi if you switched off your phone (HM cannot reconnect) or went out of reach (hiking, shopping, etc.) I prefers AP mode in this case.

and here is the script to look at (too many lines for one post): config file is "/etc/switch_wifi.conf" ap_ssid="Wifi_18765" ap_bssid="aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff" ap_channel="6" ap_encrypt="psk2" ap_key="20g3dsdsd5" net1_ssid="Wifi_18765" net1_bssid="aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff" net1_channel="6"...

Feature request / workaround / bug report WLAN...

First of all: Thanks to all contributors to this perfect project! I really love my just finished HeaterMeter (even though I didn’t do a cook with it yet). Images will follow in a separate thread. This will be a bit longer - I though about splitting it into more threads, but it wouldn’t have...

TC AMP board for 3 probes

Unfortunately I had to go for the SMD version. You can see it on the second image of post #25. It was not available as through hole version on the two german electronics stores I placed my orders at. Mouser and digikey charge you an arm and a leg for shipping to Germany (23$ shipping for mouser...

TC AMP board for 3 probes

and here is the update, everything working fine! I gave all four TC probes a quick touch with a small torch for the temperature peak: I can share the Eagle files if someone is interested. I have not uploaded anything to OSH Park yet, but you are free to do so. I have not included the...

TC AMP board for 3 probes

Just a small update: received my HM Board yesterday, populated it today and at least did a short test if the breakout board would fit. As I designed the board, I didn't fully get which side is up in the Eagle file... Hence, the first design would have to be mounted on the joystick side of...

TC AMP board for 3 probes

@ Bryan: it was just the image, I took a screenshot instead of exporting it in eagle. But you were right, it was a bit close in some places. I relaxed it slightly and correctly exported the image this time In theory, the 3.3V should match the position of the pull-up of the PIT probe on the...

TC AMP board for 3 probes

ahhh, yes, my fault. Of course there are enough pins for VCC, GND, and the sensors... I just had the original pinout for J2 on the main board in mind, as I also just made up a breakout board for TCs. Also untested, as I do not have my HM here yet (see my other thread). I designed it as a...

TC AMP board for 3 probes

@John I think this board is missing the 3.3V for the AD chips. It is not on the J2 header (only GND and the four sensors) and I do not see an additional hole for it. furthermore it is a good measure to add a 100µF on the supply voltage (the 3.3V to GND) - at least one, better one close to every...

Heatmeter with only Thermocouples and a 16x4 LCD?

Thanks for your detailed answers. I am fine with 4 probes, I won't fiddle with that. Now I also understand why the HeatMeter uses a simple preamplifier only for the thermocouple - you can easily exchange resistive and thermocouple probes and just change the calibration curve... On the other...

Heatmeter with only Thermocouples and a 16x4 LCD?

Hi there! I'm thinking of building a HeatMeter to monitor my homebuilt Watersmoker during the long PP sessions. I really like the HeatMeter concept, with the raspberry pi doing the web page stuff and the sensor / PID work offloaded to the AVR / Arduino. However, I am an absolute fan of...
