Call the weber customer service 800# they will at least get you to the right model. If you don't see a connection for the side burner on the bottom of the manifold then it probably never had one. The frames are slightly different but one may fit in yours. Keep a lookout for a burned out grill...

The fitted weber brand cover for the performer looks good to me... mine is outside for over a year and has not faded. There are also a few mods where someone has switched the plastic out for Granite... that should make her happy ;-)

I touched a Q for the first time this week... it looks like an inferior product to the genesis line. I'd grab the old one. There are still plenty of parts out there for it and it will last you a good lone time.

I dont think I'd drive 2 hours for it... gas costs would eat in on profit. If its clean when your done $100-$150 in my market.

I'm on my third restore.. The first was EASY - it is a 2 burner silver genesis It was free so I had a simple start. All it needed was some cleaning, new crossover burner, Flavorizer bars and a new ignitor. So I have about $55 in it... I went with the less expensive RiversEdgeProducts bars off...

Called the 800# today to order some parts for a Genesis 3000. Bad news - they are three weeks behind on shipping. Good news - Shipping is free. The parts I ordered are for a restore so I can wait and save some $$ ;-)

I picked up two gassers to restore last week. One had the shallow cook box and a side burner. The other had a deep cook box and no side burner. i prefer the deep book box and thought it would be easy to trade cook boxes. Nope... I didn't notice that the cover part numbers are different...

Anyone shed some light on the differences in cooking between the older deep cooking boxes/base and newer shallow base gas grills? I got two used grills to redo and one has 5 flavorizer bars and the other has 13 stacked in a grid pattern. I can get one of the two grills in good working order...

I just replaced burners, grates, ignitor and flavorizer bars on one... EASY job. And I really like the green. I'd do it!
