Where has Bryan been, is this project abandoned?!

Bryan hasn't been seen since October of 22... hope all is okay.

    Couple of questions

John, I would love to send you a few and pay for your time. Neither I nor my bench techs can figure it out… I’ll pack in all the spare parts I have accumulated over the years as well.

    Checking In: Combustion Inc

Hey All, It has been quite a while. The pandemic got me good with a bunch of long-hauling health issues that sucked my interest in my favorite hobby. I have personally built 6 heatermeters and bought a couple more pre-builts as I was giving them away as gifts. My favorite projects were...

    Meater wire free probe intergration.

So would you consider folding what you do know into HeaterMeter? The proprietary Bluetooth seemed to be a sticking point.

    Heatermeter Repair Services

Thanks Bryan. We had a brief email back-n-forth when the first one I used went haywire and I didn't have the time to fully troubleshoot... I subsequently moved through the other 2 with increasing frustration. But, it was high-stress time at work and wasn't doing a lot of cooking until we got...

    Heatermeter Repair Services

Hi All, Is anyone out there doing regular repair work on HMs? Having given away the previous ones that I assembled, I bought some pre-assembled units that have given me various problems since day 1. I gave up on them early last year and settled for using my PartyQ until I had time to work on...

so how are you attaching your blower to the smoker

WBegg, Resurrecting an old post here, but do you happen to remember what your settings were like for this? Which damper were you using?

    Fan for 22.5" WSM

My dream is to one day have three servo controlled iris dampers on my 22 WSM. Not for any particular reason than I think it would look really cool.

    Fan for 22.5" WSM

Someone with a WSM and a Heatermeter did chime in. The top temperature is largely dependent on the size of the fire at the outset. The 6.5 blower can certainly push more air than the WSM vents alone. So, if you can get those temps without a blower, you can certainly maintain them with. If you...

    Fan for 22.5" WSM

I have never tried. Anything higher than 275 goes in the Akorn. I only pull out the WSM for big cooks.

    Fan for 22.5" WSM

It does have a flap that is *okay.* It still lets a little bit of air through but it has served well.

    Fan for 22.5" WSM

I use an Auber 6.5 CFM blower mounted to a dog bowl on my 22.5" WSM. It holds 250 with no problems. I imagine that if you start a large enough fire at the outset that 325-350 wouldn't be much of a problem, but they also have 10 and 20 CFM models as well...

    Post your live HeaterMeter Cooks

All done now...graph above. Beef short ribs on the Akorn with Microdamper. Royal Oak charcoal. Post Oak and Apple for smoke. P: 4 I: .003 D: 6 On Above: 0 Min: 5% Max: 50% Startup Max: 40% The overshoot at the start was because I accidentally had the latch stuck in the lid holding it open a bit.

    V14 Woes

Heatermeter 4.2, Raspberry Pi B, Edimax wi-fi. I'm sure Bryan's servers clocked my desperation as heatermeter.com/devices got a workout from my address today. I could understand it with the Edimax, but wired?

    Quick PID Tuning Example

It seems that historically there hasn't been much luck using the Ziegler parameters in the log, so would it be helpful to replace those with the Tyreus ones.
