Does a 7lb pork butt sound big enough for 9 people or because of yield after cooking I should go with something a little bigger?

Hi, guys, I am new to the BBQ world and I want to do a pork butt, but don't have the time to cook all night. I have approximately a 7lb butt and was wondering is it possible to cut in half into 2 3.5lb butts and only have to cook for around 5-6 hours? Your help would be greatly appreciated...
