    ET-72/73 vs ET-732 Probes

Thanks guys. I went ahead and purchases the jacks specified in the parts list. Do you knowmifmthey make a high heat 72/73 smoker probe or could I use a food probe as the smoker probe? I couldn't find the 72/73 smoker probe longer than 3'.

HM V5? Total cost to build HM?

RJ and or Bryan, Found this display on Digi-key. Would it work? I realize that since the connector is on top that I would have to use a cable but not really a big deal to me. http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/NHD-0420DZ-FSW-FBW/NHD-0420DZ-FSW-FBW-ND/2607002 Thanks, Troy

    ET-72/73 vs ET-732 Probes

Still trying to nail down an order from mouser but I have a question about probes. I noticed that the parts list states ET-72 or ET-73. I have looked and can't find any 3' or preferably 6' smoker probes for the ET-72/73. I have found them for the 732 though and would prefer to use longer lead...

    HM 4.0 Display options

Is there a list anywhere of the 20x4 displays that work without any hardware or software changes and also happen to fit in the case style made by Matt? I would like to go ahead and get the parts ordered but I would like to order the display at the same time. I like the transflective style but...

I couldn't tell if that was a rainbow in your backyard or if it was the back lot of the Weber museum

    Stoker on a mac?

I will be very interested in this as I have held off getting a stoker because I only have power PC macs that don't run parallels (and yes I know about Virtual PC, but it is painfully slow).

    SS hinged grate

After looking at it again, I do agree that it is a bit less shiny than the chrome one. I really just got tired of replacing the chrome one every year. We will see how long it lasts. I was very surprised that it was less than $20. I had my first cook on it and it went great. I will let you...

    SS hinged grate

Thanks Bryan. Here is a link to it from weber: http://store.weber.com/items/?pid=1117 I think there were a few threads a while back on them for the kettles. Troy

    SS hinged grate

I finally got a 22 1/2" SS grate as a gift for my performer. The problem is that I suspect that a mistake was made by weber and it is a standard plated grate. Those of you who have the SS grate, does it have that stainless steel look or is it shiny and polished like the regular plated grates...

    Stoker blower/probe interaction issue

Thanks Jim. I am looking forward to seeing what happens on your next test. Joe, thanks for the advice. I think I will go ahead and get one. As I have said in a previous post, I live in about the windiest place on earth and I need some help not to mention that I am a huge geek. Thanks, Troy

    Stoker blower/probe interaction issue

Jim, How long have you had your Stoker? I would like to get one but am a little apprehensive about seeing quite a few people have erratic behavior from their units. Just to clarify, were you using the radio shack connections for the chart that you posted? Troy

Has anyone seen the 14 inch weber portables with the ash catcher

I think Mike is asking if Weber has fixed the airflow problem on the gold. He said it had vents on the side. I don't think the silver had vents on the side, just the bottom through the ash catcher. Someone in a thread a while back said that weber was aware of the problem with the gold's...

Where to find smoke wood in Seattle area

Hi Michael, Welcome to the board. This place is an amazing resource and the folks on here are extremely willing to help. I am not the seattle area either but I have done a lot of research on getting some wood chunks. Based on what I have read here I have ordered a few different types of...

    SS grates

I am curious. Will the new SS grates for the 18.5" kettles fit the WSM? I know they are hinged but you don't have to use the hinges and it would make clean up easier. The only reason I ask is that on Webers site, they say that both the WSM and One-Touch both have a 18.5" cooking surface...

    New Thermopen

Just tried out my new thermopen. I know I have seen it said here before, but I can't believe I didn't buy one a long time ago. That thing rocks. It is so fast and sensitive that you don't have to know how deep to place the prove. It is very thin. I just found the thickest area of the...

SMOKEY JOE PLATINUM AIR FLOW PROBLEM

Bob, Did you ever end up modifying your SJ Gold and if so, how did it end up affecting the performance. I have a gold and after I put the lid on, the temperatures take a dip. If I want the temps to come back up, I take the lid off for a few minutes. I really want to fix this with the vent...
