In the video scroll down in the questions/comments someone asks if it works with the SNS and the answer by Spyder is yes. The video was posted earlier in the thread just pointing it out.

The only thing I can think of is the height between the charcoal grate and the cooking grate. Maybe the SNS is to tall which is not the case in a kettle. Just a guess.
