This popped up just now from my FB memories page Doing a brisket.

I fought it for 2 weeks, and finally bought one yesterday. Still in the box, but I will get it put together in the next week or so. It will live most of it's life in my office, but will double as a bar cart on the holidays.

The cart is custom, but the kettle was a regular production 26er. It was aka "the flat top."

I would love to know how this came about- particularly being a Walmart exclusive. Who approached whom?

I had a similar situation a few years ago. Now, I pick up about a half dozen grills a year that have the add-on fuel gauge. I remove every single one and toss them in the trash.

Sure wish I would have ordered a few hundred, years ago.

$200 and $300 cheaper than the comparative Searwood models. Slightly smaller, and no searing capabilities. More of a typical pellet smoker and in the lower price range where the majority of the competition lives.

Great looking grill. I saw it the other day on The Genesis Club as well. The blackout on mine is show some slight fade, and I need to completely repaint one of the shelf end caps. Members Mark grill cleaner pretty much removed it.

I am curious to know if the date on the grill is the same as the box.... also the date on the burner tubes and fire box.

Where have these been? I don't they have made the Genesis II since '21 or '22.

As I suspected. Ed P, thanks for doing the home work on this. Your average guy that cleans his grill once a year will not likely notice a difference. Those of us that clean two or three a year, will see a difference that requires a little more elbow grease.
