These are the knobs from my newer version “double.” If you wanted to take a walk on the wilder side, you could try painting the Broilmaster name and flame light blue similar to how some of us paint the kettle red on the Weber badges. 😲

I think satin or semi-gloss would look good. I used a Krylon high heat satin that they don’t seem to offer any longer on this one:

I could go either way, but personally think if you do some new paint sanded off that it would look better just doing the logo rectangle.

You can still find some leftover cast iron burners, but they are not that amazingly rugged design.

Wow! That’s some hunk of a cast iron burner! Being able to take it apart is a cool feature letting you thoroughly clean it. By the time they made my “double” they had dropped down to the relatively thin stainless ones. They certainly don’t last 50 years like yours😃!

I don't think the double was made with side shelves, but that doesn't mean you can't add them. Mine only has a front shelf, but it is a newer model where they went to slats. The one thing I would say is that the side shelf on the right might get in the way of the big handle you use to move...

I am thinking of a completely new bottom - maybe even thick wood as some have used (but please paint gray!) and making it wide enough to mount what's left of the frame on top of it. Then get some decent casters attached to the bottom four corners.
