    3D printing an old part

On some grills like a Genesis SS Platinum, I am OK with the daisy-style, but the “regular” ones that preceded it generally look better. The first wide-whitewall type brings out the vintage look of the oldest grills.

That was a home run opportunity, keep or flip. I would love to have one, but as I posted elsewhere, charcoal is a no-go with my wife:(.

I will just leave this here

When @Bruce and I went to Kansas City in May, one of the BBQ stores had a high-end Napoleon with similar cast stainless grates. They were very impressive and seem like the best of both worlds to me.

I have seen those before and always wondered how well the basic Broilmaster body adapted to charcoal. For me, it does not matter, as I have had the last fight with my wife about cooking with charcoal. No more charcoal grills for me as I have too many for cooking just for myself!

    Broilmaster G-2000D Restoration

Josh, Here is a picture of the original NG one: I ordered this pair to see if they will work, hopefully also replacing the old gas lines as well, but at least the orifice ends. If they do, there is another place that sells just a single like I would need for the "oven" side...

Awesome! They obviously work perfectly. My valve is totally different, where the orifices are part of an elongated "nose piece" for lack of a better word. It has a female end that goes over the valve's male end.

Those look like the grates I need for my "Double". I would pay the $50 just to get those if the measurements confirm.

Josh, I actually like many Broilmaster grills, but I just suspect that others find them "frump." Besides the "double/II" model, my personal favorite is to have the redwood slat shelves. You probably saw where my artist friend painted a Broilmaster logo on a homemade oak handle that I think...

    Broilmaster G-2000D Restoration

I went ahead and bought one of the eBay ones. I hope I can actually get this monster done someday soon so I can see how it will look!!!! I did soak the drip can holders in Evaporust. It did a better job than I expected. but I am thinking of coating with POR-15. That will really strengthen these...

That would be the way to go. I guess I will swallow my pride and buy one on eBay so I can do it right. You having that one to spare makes it within my tolerance level! Surely there is something I can give to you in return...any wishlist items?

Larry, That is absolutely true on my part for sure. You did introduce me to them, and I do have an affection for them, even if they aren't the most stylish grills. Now, the "double" some of us are all talking about IS pretty cool looking! On the other hand, for cooking I would rather have a more...

I know @Josh Dekubber is looking for the shelf supports like that. I wish I knew the grate measurements to see if they would fit my “double.”

Yes it is, and a pretty old one at that. It is later than the one you did with the post mounted controls, but still very old. They abandoned those solid shelves quite a few years ago.

    Broilmaster G-2000D Restoration

Josh, maybe you can swap that with me for some Broilmaster or Weber part you need. That might convince me to spring for one of the eBay ones and have very close to original for my “double.” I would use your 500 degree one on the smaller oven side.

    Curb Alert !!!

That’s a good point. I guess I don’t really know what the goal would be, though. I already have almost all the parts I need for mine. As rare and special as these are I don’t see much, if any, flip potential with two NG versions within a few hours of me both languishing unsold and down to the...

I have been watching, but the price will have to really drop low for me to bite.

Picked up an old broilmaster double grill today...

Give the seller credit for frugal shipping methods! Mine look the ones Josh received: I think they are as close as you are ever going to get to the originals on yours, Josh. The "plain" black ones I already have look kind of bland vs. the two on eBay that also look pretty close to the...
