I built one just before we found out about the ground problems and never got it to work reliably. Even after the white wire fix it was still very erratic. The new 4.2.4 board has it worked out pretty nicely though.

What are your PID settings? Is this graph typical or was it a one time deal? How do you have your coals laid out and lit?

We have some new features in the 4.24 case that we haven't unveiled yet that will effectively end this possibility in the future.

Should be around the same price depending on whether you want thermocouple support or not. I think the thermocouple amp is $4.81, the SMD components are about $0.06 a piece, and the jack is $2.05 so even that only adds about $7.50 depending on which thermocouple you buy and it's cost vs. an RTD...

I go ABS sometimes, PLA others. I'm amphibious (HM case for just the cost of shipping to the first person that points out the reference)

Alex, I also forgot to mention. If you want I can shave a little bit more off of the bottom by shortening the case about 4.5 mm and removing the key hole mounts like we are doing in the new 4.24 case. I'm not sure if you wanted to use those mounts but I can have that for you tonight if you are...

As Bryan stated, low will be fine for the case. I don't recommend going to layer heights >0.3 mm because things start to look like the stay-puff marshmallow man.

I just printed one and it weighs 98.4g. Do they tell you what quality means? I'm guessing layer height? EDIT: that was with PLA though. You have to check the density of PLA vs. ABS. I'm pretty sure PLA is more dense EDIT2: PLA is roughly 1.23 times as dense as ABS so you will save money by...

I've never melted a case, but I have heard of 2 people doing it. Don't let the case touch the smoker, but I leave mine within a foot of my bge pretty regularly. Treat it like you would any electronic device.
