    Broken Silver B Lid Handle

You can keep looking for a replacement in the mean time.

    Broken Silver B Lid Handle

If looks are not an issue, then simply get a peice of wood and fashion one out that. No need to miter it or cut the grooves into it. Just plane down the ends so it will fit in the handle.

    Genesis XXI (Jr) Restoration

No, I believe that is probably true Josh. I have handled a couple of the older (1980s) lids in the last couple months and they clearly were made with thicker porcelain and likely a little higher quality coating that what is being put out lately.

They are 40 year old grills. Just avoiding the fade is a huge thing.

    Broken Silver B Lid Handle

I have never tried to glue one and I would be highly skeptical that it would hold. You can always keep your eyes open for a curb alert silver B/C or even a durawood Genesis 1000 and grab that handle.

    Curb Alert !!!

I see them on several grills. Usually the printing on them is worn off and I just assumed they were stickers with letters that identified individual parts for use by the customer in putting the grill together. Some of those people obviously didn't bother to remove the stickers when done...

Cleaning Warming Racks and Swinging Baskets on Early Genesis.

Larry, I have to look at a calendar just to verify I was alive back in the 80's and 90's much less remember details about them.

    Curb Alert !!!

The real trick is finding one with a lid that has not succumbed to the "Weber Fade".

Cleaning Warming Racks and Swinging Baskets on Early Genesis.

1 out of twenty of my Silver B rehab pickups still have a warming rack in them. My theory is that people find them annoying and take them out never to put them back in or they rot out and just never get replaced.

I think that is just layer of grease and carbon that typically collects on the control panel along the cook box. That is worse than usual however.

Ah, a couple dozen little tubs of High Temp JB Weld and it will be good for a couple more grease fires.

Yah, a lot of times when you message someone about a grill they have had for sale a long time, they mark them sold because they realize they forgot to delete the listing when they sold/disposed of it.

    A recent 1998 Genesis 1000 I picked up - yet another project...

Oh yah, the first weber I rehabbed for personal use was a redhead 1993 Genesis 1000. It came with the plain rod, but I changed it over to a slider and cannot imagine going back to the old style.

You can drag it up here if you like. I have NG. I just ask that you keep it under control. All the grills in my driveway are LP and I don't want anything funny going on. I would like to keep their gene pool intact.
