Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

Just noticed there had been an error in the microdamper store. On the drop down box to select which options you'd like to choose, it was displaying incorrectly. This has been correct, sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks. I'll order and see how the size, quality compare. If they are better then you just made the kits a little cheaper for everyone.

Newbie questions for a Weber 22" kettle

Here is a link to a post that Benjamin Thibault posted installing his MicroDamper on a kettle - this was before the MD was designed with threads though. http://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?41158-so-how-are-you-attaching-your-blower-to-the-smoker&p=689196&viewfull=1#post689196 Basically you use...

Newbie questions for a Weber 22" kettle

The 4.3 kit will run that Pi. The best way to hook up a kettle is to drill a hole and thread a pipe nipple. Benjamin Thibault (a member) runs a kettle with a MicroDamper so he can give you some killer PID settings. Def go with the Thermocouple, they are cheap, accurate, and extremely durable...

    Heatermeter inCold Weather

If in doubt, use a disposable handwarmer

Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

It threads onto a pipe nipple easily, fits nicely, and tightens when you reach the end. What more do you require from it? I don't understand why you want/need it better

I don't see what the problem is. It prints and functions just fine

Community 3D Printer / Assembly / Trading Resources

I've assembled around 10-12 HeaterMeter units for various people, and have decided that I'd like to provide my soldering services "officially" here on this thread. You can email me at MicroDamper@gmail.com. From time to time I may also have a fully assembled HeaterMeter available through my...

Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

It also comes from china - 3 or 4 week wait. Honestly they look kinda cheap, I'll stick to the metal body that the SJ5-43502PM from Mouser/Digikey has. It might cost an extra buck but at least it's a bit sturdier. This piece receives a good amount of usage so I'm not so sure I'd like to cheap...

    ThermoWorks Smoke Review

I wish they made a Smoke with all thermocouples instead of the thermistor probes. I'd be all over that in a second. But I suppose when my maverick goes I'll upgrade to this.

Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

I source mine from Digikey because when you choose USPS First Class shipping you are more-or-less paying exact shipping cost on them, I don't know of anywhere else that has them

Servo chatter/sporadic movements when changing %

That'll be just fine. Anything over 1 amp is recommended. I typically buy a 2 amp since most these cheap adapters don't aren't always capable of what they say they are

    PID Tuning for Primo XL

I should use my HeaterMeter on my Breville Smart Oven and see how it performs. It's one hell of a "toaster oven", I use it on 90% of all the items I cook in an oven.

    HeaterMeter Hardware v4.3.3, v4.3.4, v4.3.5, v4.3.6

Yeah, $15 is kinda ridiculous to ship to Canada. I can understand it costing that much to ship overseas, but Canada? Come on!

    Charcoal bins on performer

In the bin, no bag, no problems... so far. The longest I go before having to refill it is no more than 3 weeks. This will be the first winter with me and my performer so if I remember to come here next year I'll let you know how it goes. Edit: Oh, I also live in South Dakota - so we'll see...

Built in wifi, and better than the USB module

Sounds like you've either a short somewhere, or you just have a bad power adapter. These power adapters are known to be crap, if you have a spare 12v 1 or more Amp power adapter around your house give it try. Many electronics run off 12v so check them all - routers, modems, cordless phones...

    PID Tuning for Primo XL

When you're on the main screen press 'P' on your keyboard and a little table will show up on the left hand side (if it doesn't show, try clicking anywhere on that screen and try again) that shows you the live PID values. It comes in handy when you want to tune your PID, also helps us help you...
