    Help, First Butt

First, you may have 2 butts. If they are in a cryovac, they may look like one, but it's likely 2. Cook it at whatever temp you are comfortable with. I've done them both ways, but I prefer something around 250. I'll do them hot if I'm in a hurry and they are fine, I just don't find the fat to...

    My Performer is here

Alright - within a span of 10 minutes I received the propane adapter from Amazon and made an arrangement to sell the grill with a Saturday pickup. Time to put it together. I'll post pics later, hopefully today. Ok, back with pics of the assembled grill. Kind of gloomy out today, so the pics...

    My Performer is here

All I can give you right now is a picture of the box in my garage. Until I get rid of this gasser I've been trying to sell on craigslist, I don't have room for it....If the gasser doesn't sell by this weekend, it will be replaced with the Performer, and the gasser will sit in the garage. It's...

    Gyro Meat

I made this Saturday night and loved it. I've made gyros a handful of times, but this was the best effort so far. I didn't fire up my roti, just put it on the wsm for a while with one chunk of cherry.

    Pork Loin Roast

The pork turned out very well, but I would do a couple of things differently in the future. I purchased what appeared to be the rib portion of the center cut - it was just under 6 pounds and cost about $10. Here are a couple of pics: I brined it and rubbed with a no-salt bbq rub of mine...

Why can't I master the minion on a kettle?

I'm not sure, sounds like you're doing the right thing to me. Only thing I can think of is the coals on the top of the chimney might not be as hot as you think, and the side that gets the coals first is the one not catching. With 12 coals, there isn't much of a top, so I don't know if that's a...

    new kettle

Price seems too high for what you're getting. I have an older OTP, and I like it, but I don't think it's $100 better than my OTG. Not sure how the OTP was priced then, since I got this one for free from a neighbor who was throwing it out. Oh, and I think this is ugly compared to the older model.

    My Performer is here

Yeah, I'm waiting on a part from Amazon to connect my 20# propane tank. Once that comes I'll fire it up, but it will probably be salmon that gets cooked. What are the main differences in the 05 and 10? I know the wheels are different, as is the color of the table. Not sure what else is...

    Pork Loin Roast

I'm going to pick up a bone-in center cut pork loin roast, or something similar, to smoke this weekend. I plan on brining it in a simple brine, applying a light rub of black pepper and garlic, and them smoking at 275. I plan to pull at 145 and put in a 500* oven for 5-8 minutes to brown, per...

    My Performer is here

My new brick red performer was dropped off yesterday, straight from the Weber store in Palatine. I'm waiting for someone to pick up my gasser to clear some space, hopefully today or tomorrow, and then I'll put it together and take some pics.

Buying a performer - gas question

I agree with what you're saying. I currently have a gasser, so I'll be gaining space somewhat. I already own 2 20# tanks, so it's easy for me. I brew beer using the propane, so I like to have a full spare for when I run out. This will allow me to do that, plus not have to worry about the tank...

Buying a performer - gas question

That's kind of what I figured, but thought I would run it by everyone. I was looking at something like this. http://www.amazon.com/Freedom-...9690376&sr=8-1-spell

Buying a performer - gas question

I'm selling my gasser and am going to replace it with a Performer. I want to keep my 20# propane tank, as I like to have 2 around for beer brewing and other activities. Anyways, I would like to hook up the 20# tank to the Performer, rather than go with the smaller camping tanks. Do I need an...

Does the 5 CFM blower cut it for you on your stoker?

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">stoker would just let you gang together two 5 CFM blowers and use them simultaneously instead of just one 10 CFM blower. stoker ext cables

Joe, Standard stereo extension cables will work just fine. You can use y-splitters to connect food and pit probes to one extension cable, but it is best to run the blower on it's own cable. I run two blowers, 2 pit probes, and a couple food probes. I put the blowers each on their own extension...

Wifey bought pork belly by mistake - What to do with it?

Anyone have a recipe to make bacon from pork bellies? I'd like to give it a try.
