In the video scroll down in the questions/comments someone asks if it works with the SNS and the answer by Spyder is yes. The video was posted earlier in the thread just pointing it out.

The only thing I can think of is the height between the charcoal grate and the cooking grate. Maybe the SNS is to tall which is not the case in a kettle. Just a guess.

I agree with Bruno the WSK is alot more money so if you have it thats fine but the performer for the money is hard to beat. Add an SNS Deluxe to it and you also have a decent smoker more than decent.
