Quick partial disassembly of Weber genesis 1000

Yes, those second ones are the best. The top ones are leg leveling inserts. They will probably work, but not as well as the ones designed for connecting square tubing.

All you need instant read thermometer for $14.99

Next time you fire up a gas grill to max temp, stick the the probe into one of the holes on the side of the cook box. It should be hot enough to take it over max temp and you can watch it happen. I find that as a good way to verify the internal ambient temp of grills as well. At least until...

    Genesis 1 Restoration

Oh, and don't bother taking out the manifold bolts. Those are stainless bolts and I have found very few of them rusted or damaged other than being stuck which I think Weber did on purpose on some of their grills. Just leave them in and reuse them. I even have them in when I get the cook boxes...

    Genesis 1 Restoration

Val, I do it this way to save time. If I was working on a grill and didn't have spare parts, like an extra cook box laying around, I wouldn't do this or at least would get as aggressive doing it this way. BUt I have done a good 200 Silver B and Genesis 1000 cook boxes and I would say 40% have...

    Genesis 1 Restoration

I use the brute force method. I know the pitfalls, but it works for me 98% of the time and it is much faster.

Looking for part number (or the part!) for Genesis 1000/2000 rotisserie motor

This should fit your rotisserie. The photo of the back plate that mounts to the bracket is blurry. I can get a retake if you want. I included a photo of the bracket that mounts on the cook box that the motor attaches too. Bracket not included. Let me know this is what you are looking for...

All you need instant read thermometer for $14.99

The "HHH" reading is typical of thermometers that exceed their max temp

ISO Genesis 2000 LP Manifold, LP scale/holder and panel (converting NG to LP)

They coat the whole lid in black and then top coat it with whatever color. Sometimes the colored top coat will run or bleed over onto the black where it isn't necessarily intended. But it is usually inside the lid or in a place that doesn't show anyway.

I will just leave this here

I read posts on my phone relatively often, but, unless I am away from home, I typically jump on the computer to post.

    New Burner/Ignitor not working

I think sometimes too much gas or the way the gas is flowing into the spark area is the problem. Try turning the burner to half or maybe even 1/4 before lighting.

Those are the kind of people that always think it would be great to show them photos after it is restored.

    Wanted: Silver A control panel

Thanks Samuel, but I need it to have the instructions on it. And those chips are a bit too severe for a rehab. But, I really appreciate the offer.

    Wanted: Silver A control panel

If anyone has a spare control panel for a Silver Q lying around in decent shape, let me know. I need one that has markings for the 3/4 sweep valves. Here is the old one. Major Weber fade.
