The Speed Queens are more but those Miele washers really have a small capacity I mean really small. The Speed Queen is not a monster but its bigger than those alot bigger.

J, I understand what you are saying they should but many don't. Samsung and GE most models have a one year warranty you can of course buy an extended plan. Speed Queen does not really change much in their washers at this point I am sick of buying washers 2 in 15 years. I am 70 so if its the...

Does anyone warranty the expected life of an appliance? The expected life per Speed Queen is 25 years. Going to look at a few next week will report back and no they are not sold thru box stores, fortunately I have a dealer 4 miles away from me that services and sells them.

I hope someone chimes in on the Speed Queen I am starting to lean that way, expensive yes but with a 7 year warranty maybe not. I like that parts and labor especially labor are included. You spend 700 for something else lucky to get a 2 year warranty out of it something goes wrong after that...

I picked that up off the internet and I am in a Co-op so there is a credit for usage the more you use. But my last bill was $135.00 used 1387 KW so to use that for example which has the service charge and taxes in it. Its basically .0973 per KW so based on 468 for the dryer per year my yearly...

Here is another interesting blurb from Speed Queen on capacity as at first glance its pretty small. https://speedqueen.com/scoop-blog/knowledge/products/top-load-washer-machine-capacity/ Pricey yes but if it keeps my wife happy I am happy and after being on my second washer in 14 years with the...

Clothes washing machines - any reccos of new machines and manufacturer experiences?

We have pretty good electric rates in GA but depending on what kind of dryer you have its not really that expensive to run it believe it or not. We would fit in to 2-3 times a week in my family only 2 of us. On average, dryers use 1,500 to 5,000 watts of electricity – this number is highly...

Consumer Reports and this was many years ago had some issues with a few models of Speed Queens and yes their were some issues but I don't believe with the current models that is the case but from my research in the last few days I would not buy the TC model I would go with the Tr5 or Tr7 and I...

We had an impeller type before my wife hated it said the clothes did not get as clean. Now we have an agitator HE machine hates that also it has a deep fill button which she uses for just about every wash so not saving any money on water. Says the thing never fills up with enough water unless...

Most people who spend 800 or 900 k don't worry about 50k for a basement again in Atl its a walkout basement so in my case I have a shop plus my finished space so it basically adds 1000 sq feet of living space not including my shop. I came into ATL in 1996 which were the golden years from...

    Replacing a garage door opener

My neighbor has the sidemount liftmaster also I don't get it either it looks nicer since the door when opened is substantially higher but for what? The power is the issue also you need to run power down to the side lifts which is another expense.

    Replacing a garage door opener

Very interesting subject I have screw drives and my Genie's are probably 14 years old been pretty solid. My cars have Homelink they are a bit flaky probably cause its so old have had to reprogram a few times supposedly the newer openers don't have such issues. When they croak most likely will...
